Autonomous Military Systems: collective responsibility and distributed burdens

چکیده

Abstract The introduction of Autonomous Military Systems (AMS) onto contemporary battlefields raises concerns that they will bring with them the possibility a techno-responsibility gap, leaving insecurity about how to attribute responsibility in scenarios involving these systems. In this work I approach problem domain applied ethics foundational conceptual on autonomy and responsibility. argue over use AMS can be assuaged by recognising richly interrelated context which systems most likely deployed. This allow us move beyond solely individualist understandings at treatments cases, toward one includes collective allows collectives form part, account for distribution burdens follows from attribution. expansion our practices close least some otherwise intractable gaps.
